I recently ordered a few things from Jen, including two collars, a blouse and a remade coin necklace. To say I am happy with my purchases would be an understatement. I absolutely love everything. Everything is so beautifully made and the attention to detail is exquisite. The pattern on my blouse was obviously so carefully planned out and also cut out from the table cloth in a way to make the best use of the fabric - The fact that it is sustainable is just the cherry on the top! Dealing with Jen was wonderful and she was always there to answer any query and replied to my emails straight away! Everything came wrapped and presented in such a gorgeous way, it is clear to see that Jen loves her work and cares so much about every single item she makes. I made my first purchase from Jen in early 2021. My body had changed a lot in the few months before that and I was looking for some new clothes that fitted me, came from a company that aligned with my values and ultimately, helped me to feel good. When I had a look at Jen’s site, I felt that her clothes ticked all of these boxes.

The word “sustainable” is used a lot these days and not every company that adopts the label follows through with action. However, it is extremely clear that Jen really practices what she preaches. Everything from the packaging to the labels to the clothes themselves are made with the planet in mind.

However, after buying one (and then another!) of the Amy tops from Jen, I quickly realised that Jen was going that one step further in her efforts to be sustainable. Our bodies naturally change over time and Jen has made some beautiful clothes that take that into account. I’ve lost count of the number of times that I’ve bought a high street top, only to give it away because it shrunk or no longer fits months later. I was thrilled to find a brand like By Jen Byrne that has a series of items that are adjustable rather than replaceable. I LOVE how the Amy tops can be easily adjusted to fit and be comfortable on my body on any given day and know that this will allow me to treasure and wear them for many years to come.

If I can think of one word to describe my experience of shopping with By Jen Byrne, it’s care. She clearly cares deeply about the planet and for the individual people who will be wearing her clothes and that comes across in the quality of her clothing, her correspondence with the customer and the beautiful packaging that her items arrive in. I feel fantastic every time I wear her tops, not only because they are comfortable and beautiful to look at, but also because I know they were made in a truly sustainable way.

After seeing a friends necklace she had bought from a shop at ocean terminal in Leith, I knew I had to have one as it was just so beautiful and reminded me of my granny. Unfortunately when I got there the specific one I wanted was out of stock. I messaged Jens Instagram page to see if I could purchase one direct. Jen had none left but so kindly offered to make me one! From the very first contact to when I picked up my beautiful necklace- I could not be more impressed. She was so responsive and quick, nothing was a bother. She went the extra mile and wrote me a message(which made me cry happy tears)! The packaging was also lovely.
