If there was a zero option, that would be the one I would choose for this review.

I was silent for a year, but I want to warn women so that they don't choose this provider to deliver their baby.

Steer clear of Karen, please.

I had originally switched from Celebration Hospital to this location with Karen.

The first red flag was when I was concerned about some of the results in my anatomy scan, he quickly shut me down, and made me feel invalidated regarding the finding. He actually told me to, " stop going on Google".

He refused to do sonograms apart from anatomy.

On the day of delivery, during my C-section I opted to do a procedure, and from what I am assuming are different beliefs he has, he was condescending, rude, and was HARASSING my husband and I.

Karen was negatively speaking of me, and my husband in the DELIVERY ROOM to the other doctors as if we were not in there - in turn causing me to have a panic attack, and cry during my whole procedure which should have been a heartwarming experience with my baby.

I couldn't even believe the fact that the nurses didn't try to comfort me either, but I am assuming it has to do with his position.

Upon following up at 6 week appointment. I never heard from him again.

I will be contacting Orlando Health regarding my experience.

All in all, if you have certain requests, or concerns as to how your baby is doing during your gestation, I would stay far, far away from Karen.

Dr. Karen is a wonderful doctor who I have seen for over 10 years for both ob and gyn. Highly recommend him to anyone looking for a good doctor with lots or patience.

Very thorough and respectful doctor and extremely nice nurses especially Nurse Stephanie. I felt so comfortable and even though the circumstances regarding my diagnosis were not the best, they were so supportive and helpful with my options. Dr. Karen spent a lot of time with me and answered any questions I had and explained every single part of my procedure I will be having. Very thankful to have found this office.

I see many doctors now and rarely review. But today's visit was so awful and hopefully save someone else stress.
Pros- the Office staff & Nurses are Amazing, Kind, Caring, and Compassionate
Cons- Dr. Karen is argumentative, condescending, doesn't listen, actually raised his voice to me and confrontational, will also degrade your other Drs' advice and treatments for you, and will over-talk you, all while basically interrogating you

I did the Orlando Health survey after the visit where I said that "I have much respect and appreciation for Dr's, even if they don't have the answers, or refer me out because they are trying their best to help me and being kind". This guy couldn't even be kind

So Imagine my surprise when 20mins later my after-visit summary was available and he straight up lied about the visit!
But, I submitted the survey with the truth before he even did the after-visit summary.

I am left more confused and disheartened because I don't know if what he told me is even true, but I do know that I never want to go back there and be treated like this and lied about in a medical document. Remember- THIS IS ORLANDO HEALTH AND HOW THEY TREAT PEOPLE.

I switched to Dr. Karen's office in order to receive prenatal care and deliver closer to my home, but I was very disappointed in my experience. He talked a mile a minute, seemed to be rushing, was EXTREMELY condescending, and in my opinion, too quick to prescribe medication instead of investigating the actual problem.

I had a fairly elevated blood pressure, and he immediately prescribed me a blood pressure medication. My previous OB had recorded an elevated blood pressure, and had suggested possibly stopping a medication I currently take to see if that brought it back down (since high blood pressure is a possible side effect), but Dr. Karen never mentioned that as a possibility. Not to mention that the medication he prescribed could have negatively interacted with one of my current medications, but he failed to mention that. I didn't feel as though I could even mention these things because he rushed through so quickly, and I felt as though he would just brush off my concerns. Thankfully I went back to my old OB for a second opinion, because my blood pressure was fine at their office, and has been fine at home.

On top of that, he seemed very judgmental over my opting out of genetic testing. I explained that my insurance wouldn't cover it so I couldn't afford it, but he didn't seem convinced. He pushed for me to do another genetic test via bloodwork, despite what I told him about my insurance.

He was also strangely condescending about the type of prenatals I'm taking? He asked if it was a pill or a gummy, and I said it was a softgel. And he said with a weird tone, "Now tell me, what is a softgel?" I was very confused by this, and when I didn't answer, he said, "Because in the medical community, it's either a pill or a gummy. Softgel means nothing to me." By his tone I could tell he knew exactly what a softgel was, he was just trying to make me feel stupid unnecessarily.
This was when I became very uncomfortable, because it felt very much as though he was insulting my intelligence. I was receiving prenatal care before seeing him, and made sure to get my prenatals and vitamins approved to make sure me and baby got everything we needed. I told him at the beginning of the appointment this was my first baby, and it seemed like he took that and just assumed I was stupid and had no idea what I was doing.

I would also like to mention that my mother in law was in the room with me, and was very taken aback by his tone and bedside manner. I'm relieved she was there with me, because I was very uncomfortable throughout this brief and unpleasant interaction. During my appointment, Dr. Karen had another doctor shadowing him that day, and I hate to think that this is the example he is setting for other potential OBGYNs.

Thankfully I was able to return to my previous OB. I have not and will not be returning to Dr. Karen's office, and would not recommend him.

I've been seeing Dr. Karen for years now, and have always had a great experience coming to the office. He's caring, thorough, and friendly. The office staff is really nice as well! If you need to get an appointment sooner, they make it possible. The office itself is very clean and decorated nicely. The chairs in the waiting room are comfortable as well, although you won't be sitting there long because the nurse brings you back quickly! Highly recommend.
